NJM Career Journey: Tanika

NJM employee Tanika at NJM office.

You can go “home” again!

Tanika first joined NJM as a contact center representative in 2001 after graduating from Bennett College with a B.S. in psychology and stayed four years before leaving for another job opportunity.

After more than 15 years and two employers Tanika realized that she wanted to come back to NJM. She found that the journey home was easy and welcoming.

She said NJM felt like home when she returned last February as a supervisor in our Personal Lines Contact Center.

Tanika sees the value of ongoing education and has earned a master’s degree in Marketing since leaving NJM. Currently, she is finishing up the three-month management development program, which NJM provides in partnership with Drexel University.

“One of the best things has been the exposure to and ability to learn from people in different NJM departments and offices and bounce ideas off them,” said Tanika. “The management development program is really interactive. Since I started at NJM, I feel supported and able to reach out to coworkers if I have a question.”

Tanika wants to keep growing with NJM, which after a century as a single-state writer, is now a regional insurer operating in seven states.

“There are opportunities for career growth here,” she said. “There is strong and specific feedback on the internal interview that helps you prepare for the next opportunity.”

NJM offers a variety of career opportunities in sales, marketing, accounting, finance, IT, actuarial science, and more! The Company provides outstanding benefits and access to wellness programs and continuous learning opportunities and encourages employees to give back to the communities we are privileged to serve.
